#GoRadio 17: Foley-icious
Those animal sounds you hear in wildlife documentaries? Some of them are created by Foley artists. Try making your own:
Pick a video clip from a documentary. You could use this one about the Darwin's Bark Spider or this one about Darwin Stag Beetles. Mute the sound and watch it once. Note down ideas you have for sounds . Gather supplies. Now play it and try and create sounds to fit the action on screen. Experiment with different techniques. Try using an elastic band for the spider’s steps on the web or rub your hands over plastic wrap to create the sound of the insect being trapped. Try making sounds that are close to what you imagine the actual sounds might have been like, but also sounds that are completely strange and different.
