Choose a work of fiction, grab a highlighter, and while reading, note and highlight every instance or mention of sound, throughout. Bonus points for visual documentation of especially sound-rich passages.

Julie Shapiro is Executive Producer of PRX's Radiotopia and the Ear Hustle Podcast. From 2014-15, she was the executive producer of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Creative Audio Unit. In 2000 she co-founded the Third Coast International Audio Festival.
